Robert Jay Cronin

As Founding Artistic Director of NYC's Ergo Theatre Company, Robert has directed and choreographed: Personals (NYC revival for which he also adapted the book), The Vicar's Wife ("Best New Musical of 1999", Playbill), The Bonus Round, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues and more.

With Broadway luminary Stephen Schwartz, Robert conceived and directed From This Day Forward: a new musical featuring the music and lyrics of Stephen Schwartz which played to sold-out houses in NYC and is currently being shopped around to regional theatres.

Robert was the Associate Artistic Director of Northern Stage in VT where he directed six highly acclaimed productions: The Miracle Worker, The Sound of Music, Don't Dress for Dinner, The Man Who Came To Dinner, West Side Story, and his new musical adaptation of A
Christmas Carol written with composer Angelyn Fullarton. Also at Northern Stage, had the pleasure and honor of working with Patrick Stewart and Lisa Harrow on Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe and with the late legend Arthur Miller on Resurrection Blues.

Robert has a great passion for new musicals and plays having worked as an intern on Richard Frankel Productions' Stomp, Tap Dogs, Smokey Joe's Café, Forever Tango and the revivals of Forum and Sound of Music. He was a script reader for Broadway producer David Stone and an
assistant on the Off-Broadway musical The Last Session. Having developed the musical version of Gemini with Kevin Carter, the two are currently developing the new musical comedy That's Andy with the talents of writer Crystal Skillman. Crystal and Robert are also developing Nevermore, a new musical about the relationship between Poe and his publisher Griswold.

Robert is a graduate of Yale University, a member of SSDC, and represented by attorney Mark D. Sendroff.
